Goodness me, it's February and I've not sent you anything so far in
2013. That's more rubbish than rubbish, that is.

It's been a busy time for me. I'm doing some work at GDS, spending a
lot of time in London (and on trains). And consequently, less time
faffing about on the internet than before.

Anyway.

Part of the work I'm doing there means writing something huge in
Markdown. I've spent a few hours over the last few days comparing apps
to do that with. First stop was OmniOutliner, but it has no word count
and I really need that. FoldingText has the same problem, and feels
like it's better suited to productivity tasks and lists than very long
texts. MultiMarkdown Composer 2 is lovely but I struggled to get on
with its styles, and while it does have a built-in word count, it sits
in an HUD panel of its own, which isn't to my taste. In the end I went
with Mou, which I've used for smaller things before. It really is
gorgeous, especially with the Tomorrow+ theme:

want to find them.)

I loved this latest Bridea:

for a walk*." Inspired.

The Croutons are a local acapella group here in BoA. Here they are
doing a lovely version of "Call your girlfriend"

Some more pop moment silliness by me:

... I've got another one brewing about Kraftwerk. I'll let you know.

Here's what Tottenham Court Road Tube station should look like when
they've finished digging it all

... that's probably old hat to those of you in London, but as a
not-Londoner all these changes are striking in their scale and
ambition. I went past the TCR building site on the top deck of a
number 7 bus last night, and my eyes boggled at the scale of what's
being done there.

It's heartening that Crossrail has apprentice jobs on offer, you don't
see many of them these days
