Remember that link the other day, to maps published on GOV.UK? Paul was
inspired to do something with the data, and made this thing that plots
aircraft noise contours on a nice zoomable clickable map. Zoom right in on
Heathrow and you can see how the contours line up with the two runways.

The local photography group - of which I'm technically still a member, even
though I've missed about six months' worth of monthly get-togethers - did a
fun thing, setting up a pop-up photobooth in town. They got together a
boxload of silly hats and wigs and dressing-up accessories, and invited
passing locals to pose for a pic.
